Why Is Yeezy.com Down? Kanye West’s Yeezy website has been removed after Shopify banned it for violating platform policies. The site was selling T-shirts featuring swastikas, sparking public outrage and backlash from organizations like the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).

A Shopify spokesperson told CNN that the merchant had breached the platform’s rules and was not engaged in “authentic commerce practices.” As a result, the site was taken offline on Tuesday morning.

Yeezy.com Super Bowl Ad Controversy

West’s website gained attention after he aired a local Super Bowl TV ad, recorded on an iPhone, encouraging people to visit the store. While not a national ad, it was shown in select markets. Shopify allowed the website to operate for over 24 hours, leading to significant social media backlash.

ADL and Public Response

The ADL condemned the sale of the swastika-emblazoned shirts, emphasizing that the symbol remains a threatening emblem of antisemitism and white supremacy. Meanwhile, West has been posting antisemitic, homophobic, and misogynistic messages on his X (formerly Twitter) account, where he has over 32 million followers. Some of his posts had visibility restrictions placed on them due to hateful content.

West’s Talent Agency Drops Him

In response to the controversy, West’s talent agency, 33&West, dropped him on Monday. Agent Daniel McCartney announced the decision via Instagram, stating that the company could not support West’s harmful rhetoric. This marks another fallout for the rapper, who had already been dropped by talent giant CAA in 2022 after previous antisemitic remarks led to major brands severing ties with him.

West Logs Out of X Amid Backlash

As of Sunday evening, West appeared to have deactivated his own X account, claiming that using the platform had been a “cathartic” experience. However, the impact of his actions continues to ripple through the entertainment and business industries.
