Mk.Gee Cancels Philadelphia Show, Citing Burnout, Treats Fans to Raising Cane's

Philadelphia fans were left disappointed on September 28 when rising indie artist Mk.Gee canceled his highly anticipated show at the last minute. The announcement came via Mk.Gee’s Instagram story, where he apologized, explaining that he was simply burnt out and couldn’t bring himself to perform another show after a grueling schedule.

“I’m just burnt out and didn’t have it in me to do another show,” Mk.Gee admitted in the heartfelt post. His message resonated with fans who’ve been following his intense tour throughout September, during which he’s been performing almost daily.

As a gesture of apology, fans who had been waiting in line were treated to boxes of Raising Cane’s—a surprise snack that helped soften the blow for many who had hoped to see the eclectic musician live.

Mk.Gee’s September has been packed with shows, so his burnout is understandable. Some fans have even shared TikToks from his recent performances, highlighting the artist’s dedication to giving the crowd what they want. At several shows, he’s performed his hit song “DNM” multiple times, even joking with fans, “I’ll play this shit all night.” One viral TikTok video captures Mk.Gee playing the track five times in a row, at the request of the energetic audience.

Despite the exhaustion, Mk.Gee continues his tour, playing in Toronto, Ontario, tonight before moving on to the Midwest. He’s set to wrap up the U.S. leg of his tour by the end of the month before heading to the UK.

Fans in Philadelphia are hopeful Mk.Gee will make it up to them in the future, and many continue to express their support on social media, understanding the toll of such a demanding tour schedule.
