Artist: KWOLEK Single: Euphoria Genre: Indie Rock, Rock Pop, Garage Rock Release Date: February 4th, 2025
Kwolek’s latest single, Euphoria, is a controlled descent into chaos. A brief yet intricate piece, the track plays with structure in a way that keeps the listener slightly unmoored, mirroring its central theme: the idea of staying sane by emptying the mind.
From the outset, Euphoria refuses to settle. The time signature is elusive, shifting unpredictably, making for an off-kilter but engaging listen. It’s disorienting in a way that feels intentional, like stepping into a dream where logic bends just enough to keep you on edge. The instrumentation—guitar, synths, programmed drums—locks into a groove just long enough to lull you in before twisting into something new.
Melodically, the song teeters between hypnotic and unpredictable. Some sections meander, feeling almost stream-of-consciousness, while the chorus brings clarity with a hook that feels both surprising and inevitable. It’s in this contrast that Kwolek finds his balance, embracing both the familiar and the unexpected.

The B-side, Hollowspaces, recorded in an earthship in Taos, takes a different approach. Inspired in part by Yoko Ogawa’s The Memory Police, the track begins with a deceptive simplicity before expanding into something much grander. The gradual buildup mirrors its thematic undercurrent—how memory and identity can erode until, suddenly, what remains is unrecognizable.
Kwolek’s musical history is as eclectic as his sound. Raised on a mix of alt, glam, disco, new wave, goth, punk, shoegaze, and IDM, he channels decades of influence into compositions that resist easy classification. His approach is exploratory rather than commercial, driven by a deep fascination with the ways sounds interact.
As he describes it, he’s spent years “chasing the frisson of when certain noises crash together just right.” With Euphoria, he captures that elusive moment—particularly in the chorus, where the melody locks in just enough to create something deeply satisfying. The track isn’t immediate; it demands repeat listens to fully absorb its layers. But once it clicks, it stays with you.
Kwolek’s upcoming full-length, T > H > I > S, is shaping up to be a compelling entry into his catalog. If Euphoria is any indication, it will be an album that refuses to play by conventional rules—disorienting, engaging, and, ultimately, rewarding.
