“Lucky” - Raveena

Artist: Raveena Single: Lucky Genre: Experimental Pop, Singer-Songwriter Release Date: May 22nd, 2024

A dreamy combination of tinkling chimes and a soft beat paired with floaty, far-out vocals, Raveena’s newest single “Lucky” is a great setup for her upcoming album. A cheeky song about infatuation and the excitement of a new-found relationship, Raveena depicts the process of slowly opening up more and more to another person.

With a clear recording and a perfectly balanced backing track, the different parts of the song frolic together behind Raveena’s vocals. “Lucky” is heavily produced and has a lot going on, but still manages to maintain a light and lilting feel. The song is original, but you can definitely sense some of the inspiration she pulls from her culture and her idols.

We can consider ourselves lucky that we have this single to tide us over until Raveena’s “Where the Butterflies Go in the Rain” album is released. With almost two years since her last release, we highly anticipate what Raveena has in store for us.

Matilde Bois

Hello, I’m Matilde Bois, a sophomore at the University of Washington studying English. I’m interning here at Da Da Da Music to apply my musical experience to my academic studies. I’ve been a lover of music for as long as I can remember, and adore how deeply you can experience music through writing about it. In my future, I hope to be a writer, but also hope to find myself in the music industry in some capacity. In my personal music endeavors, I like writing and playing music in the indie-folk genre. As a listener, I love everything, but find my favorites residing in soul, rock, and jazz. Some of my favorite artists are Madison Cunningham, Nat King Cole, and The Beatles!
