“All Your Life,” “Again,” “Shotput” - Still Woozy: Still Woozy’s Three New Singles Point Towards a Brilliant New Album

Artist: Still Woozy Single(s): All Your Life, Again, Shotput Genre: Indie Pop, Psychedelic, Groove, Woozy Release Date: March-May 2024

Still Woozy has gifted his fans by releasing three singles over the past three months. So far, the tracks are inciting nothing but excitement for the new album set to release this summer. Still Woozy – Sven Gamsky’s solo project – has been a reigning member of the indie music scene for some time, but hasn’t released an album since 2021. After setting the mood for many indie-heads’ late 2010’s summer’s, it looks like Gamsky is back to do the same in this decade.

Gamsky begins “Shotput” and “All Your Life” with a beat that feels like it’s taken a little inspiration from 90’s Hip-hop. They then quickly transition back into the indie feel that he is known for. “Again” is more standardly in the Still-Woozy-style, but is on the slower and somberer end of his music. The songs are packed with smart and sweet lyrics, mostly about his wife and their relationship. While all potentially discussing the same themes, the songs have zero noticeable repetition, and the lyrics in each song are completely original. Gamsky’s vocals and lyrics are so in sync with the mix that you have to manually pull them apart in your head to deeply analyze them. This only adds to the satisfaction that comes with the brain-tickle Still Woozy’s music provides.

It takes more than one listen to really appreciate these new singles, but once you really tune in, you can hear the sheer musical aptitude of Gamsky. If you don’t like the songs on the first listen, I urge you to listen again, for they only grow catchier and more praiseworthy.

Matilde Bois

Hello, I’m Matilde Bois, a sophomore at the University of Washington studying English. I’m interning here at Da Da Da Music to apply my musical experience to my academic studies. I’ve been a lover of music for as long as I can remember, and adore how deeply you can experience music through writing about it. In my future, I hope to be a writer, but also hope to find myself in the music industry in some capacity. In my personal music endeavors, I like writing and playing music in the indie-folk genre. As a listener, I love everything, but find my favorites residing in soul, rock, and jazz. Some of my favorite artists are Madison Cunningham, Nat King Cole, and The Beatles!
